We aim to conduct groundbreaking research and to grow together!ProjectIn this position, you will assist different projects involving the development of peptides and proteins with therapeutic potential by combining rational design and directed evolution. In the main project, you will contribute to generating peptide-based extracellular targeted protein degradersin collaboration with a biotech company. In this project, you will apply phage display, next generation sequencing, and bioinformatics to guide the selection of new degraders. You will produce the selected candidates using a peptide synthesizer and test them in several rounds of optimization. You may also contribute to other projects by developing proteins with activity on demand using protein modelling and/or generating bioconjugates with the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier.Tasks·Contribution to research excellence at all stages: literature review, experimental design, experimentation, data analysis, and proposal of new research directions.·Collaboration with other researchers and contribution to an inspiring atmosphere.·Presentation of results and contribution to preparing reports and scientific publications.·Engagement in laboratory management and team activities. ·master’s degree. We are looking for a motivated and highly qualified candidate to apply for a predoctoral fellowship under the PFIS (Predoctoral Training Contracts in Health Research) call of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII).  Project Title: "Precision medicine approaches in idiopathic nephrotic syndrome: discovery of novel diagnostic/predictive biomarkers and therapeutic targets based on gut-microbiota-kidney crosstalk."<h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>You cannot be a candidate if you have previously received a predoctoral training grant for more than one year or if you hold a doctoral degree.</li><li>You must be enrolled in an officially accredited doctoral program for the 2024-2025 academic year or admitted/pre-admitted to a doctoral program for the 2025-2026 academic year at a Spanish university, which can be accredited after the application.</li><li>Preferably, an average grade of the university degree transcript >8 (scale 1-10).</li><li> For degrees obtained abroad, it will be essential to have the grade conversion to the Spanish system on a scale of 1-10.</li><li>Other merits such as publications, conferences, and stays abroad will be valued.</li><li>Essential previous experience in biomedical research, especially in areas related to nephrology, gut microbiota, and biomarker identification.
